About

I am a Ph.D. candidate in philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania and a visiting researcher at the Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

My primary interests lie in philosophy of science, political philosophy, and moral philosophy. I have focused most of my research and writing on science in democratic societies, military ethics, human rights, and climate change. In my dissertation, I present a public reason-based account of values in science.

Before coming to Penn, I spent time in the U.S. Army and then in business. During my time in the military, I first served as an artilleryman in the 101st Airborne Division. I then served as a drill sergeant, where I was responsible for training new soldiers in Basic Combat Training. Finally, I served as an embedded advisor to the Iraqi Army in Fallujah.

After my military service, I transitioned to a career in business. I began as a financial advisor, where I educated and advised clients on a variety of investment-related matters. I then moved into portfolio management as a bond trader, where I was responsible for the day-to-day management of three billion dollars in client assets across several portfolios. Finally, I spent time as a process and management consultant.

I am originally from New Jersey and currently live in London. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
